There are temporary walls and construction workers in the lobby, but the new owners of the Ala Moana Hotel say they will be ready to reposition the property as an upscale hotel next month.
The 1,154-room hotel on Atkinson Road, next to Ala Moana Center, is one of the six largest hotels in the state and the nearest to the Hawaii Convention Center. Since fall 2004 the 30-year-old property has been the object of a multimillion-dollar renovation by Miami-based Crescent Heights.
